“The Troy community supports all of our local teams and our hopes are that all of them will have successful seasons,” Jackson said. “In Troy, we have three outstanding football programs led by Troy University Head Coach Neal Brown, PLAS Head Coach Gene Allen and CHHS Head Coach Brad McCoy and their staffs.”
Jackson said the head coaches of all three football programs will be at Brown Bag and will be available to sign autographs and chat with their fans. Football schedules for each of the schools will be available

“Each of the coaches will have an opportunity to take center stage and talk about the upcoming season and what their expectation are,” Jackson said. “Troy Mayor Jason Reeves and Troy University Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins will share their thoughts on the upcoming football season and the community support for all the teams.”

The cheerleaders from each of the schools represented will be at Brown Bag to lead cheers for their teams and cheer for the other teams.

WSFA anchor Tonya Terry will be the emcee for the Brown Bag Kickoff and Meet and Greet, which will be from noon until 1 p.m.

Entertainment will be by disc jockey Robin Morrow C&R JAMZ.

Jackson said everyone will be invited to enjoy hotdogs, corn dogs and bottle water at Brown Bag. However, those who would like to bring a picnic are welcomed to do so.

The Pike Regional Child Advocacy Center will paint faces in fan colors or other designs. Rich Chhoun of Healing Touch will be on site to give relaxing massages to those who might have some anxiety about the upcoming football season.

Door prizes, including Troy gear and local gift certificates, will go to the lucky number winners.

Jackson expressed appreciation to the sponsors of the Countdown to Kick Off Brown Bag event, the City of Troy, Pike County Chamber of Commerce, Glow, Sonic, Troy Regional Medical Center, Horn Beverage and Troy United Women’s League.
