Troy officials are asking for the public’s feedback as a team from DesignAlabama comes to town to consider redesign possibilities for the historic Academy Street High School.

“The DesignAlabama team will be in Troy to study the Academy Street High School site, the surrounding community and our city,” said Melissa Sanders, planning and zoning administrator. “They’ll be here to review issues to be addressed, meet with the community, develop recommendations and plans, suggest solutions for design and branding and outline strategies for implementation.”

In order to accomplish these things, the design team will be in Troy beginning Thursday, August 2, at the Troy Public Library for a “community come-and-go meeting” from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. They will hold another come-and-go meeting Saturday at the library from noon to 1:30 p.m. after reviewing feedback from the initial meeting.
