The victim of a house shooting has petitioned to drop charges against one of the men that had been arrested as a suspect in the shooting.
James Edward Siler, 43, was released from the Pike County Jail Thursday after the petition was filed to drop the charge against him.
Siler said the other suspect in the shooting, Brandon Ramond Moultry, 34, stole his truck while he was sleeping and used it in the shooting.
Police Chief Randall Barr said the investigation into the shooting, which occurred at approximately 6:45 a.m. Monday on Hubbard Street, is still ongoing at this time and he declined to comment on the details of the petition to dismiss Siler’s charge.
Moultry remains charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling, a Class B Felony. Anyone with information about the incident can call the Troy Police Department at 334-566-0500.
