Tate Jackson “T.J.” Northey, 8, a resident of Elba, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2018, while vacationing with family in the Dominican Republic. Funeral services will be held at the Elba High School Auditorium on Saturday, June 2, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael Woodham officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens with Hayes Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be at the First Baptist Church of Elba on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The family will be accepting flowers or those wishing to make contributions are ask to do so to the Elba Elementary School playground fund in memory of “TJ”, c/o 131 Tiger Drive, Elba, AL 36323 or to the “TJ” Northey Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Troy Bank and Trust, P. “T.J.” was a student at Elba Elementary School, where he was described as a “bright spot” in the day by his former teachers. He will be remembered as a happy little boy who had a unique way of uplifting others and bringing smiles to those around him.
