A Pike County man out on bond for trafficking in methamphetamines and possession of a short-barreled shotgun has been placed back in prison on new meth charges.
Sheriff Russell Thomas said deputies executed a search warrant at the residence of John Derrick Haws Friday morning and found 29 grams of ice, which Thomas described as high-grade methamphetamine, a “small amount” of marijuana, scales, baggies used for packaging the ice and a marijuana grinder.
He had been previously arrested in September for three felony charges including first-degree possession of marijuana in addition to the trafficking and gun charges.
He bonded out for $113,000, but that bond has now been revoked and he is being held without bond for allegedly violating the conditions of his previous bond.
Thomas said deputies also confiscated a new Husqvarna weed-eater that they believe to be stolen, although nobody has reported the equipment missing to the sheriff’s office at the time of this story.
Haws now stands accused of five total felony charges including two charges of first-degree possession of marijuana, trafficking in methamphetamines, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of a short-barreled shotgun.
