Applications now accepted for 2019 Distinguished Young Woman of Pike County

The date for the 2019 Distinguished Young Woman of Pike County program is set for 2 p.m. August 4 and applications are now being accepted through June 8.

The program is open to all 10th and 11th grade young women in Pike County.

Candy Howard-Shaughnessy, program coordinator, said 11th grade young women who are interested in participating should apply at distinguishedyw.org.

“It’s simple to apply,” Howard-Shaughnessy said. “Click on “Apply Now” at the top right of the screen and complete all information. The applications will be reviewed and approved for participation.”

Any 10th grade young women who are interested in the “Little Sister” program may email Howard-Shaughnessy at choward310@gmail.com.

“The first mandatory workshop will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 10 at the SheBANG! Dance Studio on the square in downtown Troy,” Howard-Shaughnessy said. “All participants and Little Sisters must attend.
