A 52-year-old woman was injured Tuesday afternoon when she fell from a horse at the Heart of Dixie Trail Ride in Troy.

Officials said the woman was riding on a horse with a family member when she fell from the animal, sustaining injuries that Police Chief Randall Barr said did not appear to be life-threatening.

The incident occured at approximately 2:15 p.m. Tuesday.
