Three people charged with the murder of Xavier Hakeem Thomas in Brundidge last year have been indicted in the latest grand jury session last Tuesday.
Demarcus Flowers and Tige Townsend were both indicted on murder charges while Jacory Townsend was indicted on a charge of murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle.
“He is the suspected shooter and the other two are believed to have assisted in planning it and carrying it out.”
Thomas, 22, was apparently shot while in a vehicle parked at Walding Circle on Sunday, may 26, 2017. Police responded to reports of shots fired, but Brundidge police said Thomas had already been transported from the scene to Troy Regional Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
District Attorney Tom Anderson said the next step in the trial process is an arraignment, which will be held April 24 at 9 a.m. and their cases will then be placed on the docket for criminal court.
How long it takes each particular individual to be tried depends on which judge they are assigned to and when that judge next has a criminal court session scheduled, Anderson said.
