So much talent has signed up for Saturday night’s Open Mic event on the Square, officials had to add 30 minutes to the runtime to give everyone a chance to perform.

And that’s a win-win for everybody according to Leigh Anne Windham with the City of Troy.

“It’s a great lineup,” Windham said. “Everyone that comes out to these is always very pleased with how good these performers actually are. It’s very entertaining and enjoyable because the talent is so good.”

The concert will feature 11 performers, beginning at 5 p.m. and running to 8:30 p.m. Chairs and tables will be set up, but Windham said residents are welcome to bring their own chairs as well.

Although the air could get a bit chilly as the night falls, Windham said heaters will be placed around the Square to ensure everyone is warm. She also suggested people dress warmly for the event so that they do not have to worry about the cool weather.

As always, local musician Lenny Trawick will oversee the event.
