Marvin Augustus Norris, 83, of Crawfordville, died at home with his family, February 9, 2018. He was a native of Troy, Alabama and moved to Crawfordville in 2009. After graduating from Troy High School, he enlisted in the Army National Guard. He was the Owner and Operator for Norwood Industries as a woodworker; timber for 40 years. Marvin continued to do woodworking after retirement and enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and refurbishing old cars and tractors. He was a member of Crawfordville First Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee. All that knew him will miss his kindness and his smile.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Council Norris; his son, Joe Norris; sisters, Nonnie Buntin and Ruth Walker and husband Ferrell; brother’ Wayne Norris and wife Gloria; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Hancock and husband Bo, Joseph Norris and wife Cameron, and Tyler Norris and wife Kristin; and four great-grandchildren, Lakemon, Hollis, Wells and Anniston.

He was predeceased by his parents John and Annie Mae Norris.

Family recieved friends Saturday, February 10, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to noon at the Crawfordville First Baptist Church, with the Funeral Service starting at noon. Interment was Sunday, February 11, 2018, at 1:00 pm at Green Hills Cemetery in Troy, Alabama.
