Theo Thompson Barron of Helena went to be with the Lord on Tuesday afternoon January 23, 2018. She will be happy to see her twin sister Wanda, who died at birth. Theo and Wanda were born in Troy Alabama May 16, 1934, to Ira Asa Thompson and the former Wyche Wilson. Theo was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She graduated with a Bachelor of Education degree from Troy State Teacher’s College (Troy University) and later earned a master’s degree in mathematics from Auburn University.

She was preceded in death by her twin sister Wanda, her parents, and her brother Ira A. Thompson (Mert). She is survived by her husband Roy Barron; two sons, Tim (Toni Bird) and Ted L.; four grandchildren, Joshua S., Victoria Koster (Michael), Jonathan, and Andrew Bird (Eron); one great grandchild, Michael W. Koster III; one sister, Tessie Lowery (Fred); and a number of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, cousins and a host of other extended family and friends.

The celebration of Theo’s life will begin with a visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning. A 3:00 p.m. graveside service will be held at Springhill Baptist Church, County Road 3350 Troy, Alabama 36079.
