Mr. Willie C. Townsend 78 of Troy passed away recently at Troy Regional Medical Center.   Funeral services will be held Wednesday Nov. 15, 2017 11:00 A M at Benevolent Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Troy.   Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Coleman Funeral Home of Elba directing.

Mr. Willie Townsend was born in Pike County, Al ,on March 15, 1939 to JC Edwards and Wille Mae Nichols, at a very early age he was a God given gift to Finus and Julie Mae Townsend. He joined Benevolent Grove at an early age, he was the church treasurer, a faithful member and a devoted deacon. He loved Benevolent Grove and his Church Family. He was a dedicated employee at Wiley Sanders for the majority of his career. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, one son, one grandson, and one granddaughter.
