Troy University’s Department of Theatre and Dance presents its fall show, “Peter and the Starcatcher,” starting next week at the Trojan Center Theater.

Featuring 15 TROY students in the cast under the direction of Tori Lee Averett and assistant director John Galas, the ensemble-based show focuses on the background of the boy who eventually becomes Peter Pan.

“People should come to the show expecting a good time, a lot of laughs, and maybe a little bit of nostalgia for their own childhood,” said director Tori Lee Averett, chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance. “The amount of talent and creativity on stage and behind the scenes is incredible. It’s a magical show. It’s for all us grownups who never really grew up.”

The Tony Award-winning show stars Taylor Montgomery as Boy/Peter, Micayla Jonston as Molly and Noah Williams as Black Stache.

“People may be interested to learn how Peter Pan became the iconic boy, why he flies, where Neverland comes from — this play asks what happened before the famous story we all know,” Averett said.

Show dates and times are Oct. 12, 13, 14, 19, 20 and 21 at 7:30 p.m.; and Oct. 15 at 2:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 ($5 with a student identification) and can be bought at the Trojan Center Box Office or online at www.troytheatre.org.
