A Clio woman was struck and killed Thursday after exiting her vehicle due to a prior crash, according to a preliminary investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agent (ALEA).
Angelia Joan Pendleton, 50, was critically injured when she was struck by a Ford F150 driven by Raymundo Rivera-Bravoe, 64, of Louisville. Pendleton was transported to Dale Medical Center where she died of her injuries a short time later.
“The preliminary investigation indicates that Pendleton was involved in a crash moments before, and she was outside her vehicle when she was struck by the Ford,” Cook said.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:40 p.m. Thursday on Alabama Highway 51 three miles north of Ariton.
Nothing further is available as ALEA continues to investigate the crash.
