“Bring your cakes, pies, cookies, cupcakes and see what you can win. It might be first place or second or third. Entry forms are available at Brundidge City Hall.”
The grand finale of the Each One Reach One Baking Contest will be a cake walk and no one will want to miss the opportunity to take home a homemade cake baked by one of the best cooks in the county.”
Each One Reach One is an organized committee that has as it goals helping children, single parents, elderly people, the sick, disabled and homeless.
“On Saturday, we’ll open with the parade followed by our guest speakers and singing groups,” said Karen Rouse, event coordinator. We’ll also have information booths to help our community with everyday questions that they can’t seem to find answers to.
“This is our 5th Annual Each One Reach One event and this summer we are specifically reaching out to the youth. Our organization is working together to give away 1,000 book bags filled with supplies the children will need to start the new school year. We will also have food and supply boxes for the elderly.”
Rouse said the book bag give away is a big thing of the day as every child needs a good start to the school year.
“We want to show our interest in and support of our youth by helping each one of them off to a good start,” she said.
