The Pike County Extension Office will host a farm and landowner estate-planning workshop from 6:15 until 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 15 at the Extension office at 306 South 3 Notch Street in Troy.
Allie Corcoran, interim Pike County Extension Coordinator, said Dr. Robert Tufts from Auburn University will be covering topics including succession planning, basic documents in an estate plan, issues specific to landowners, avoiding probate, estate/death taxes, and several other areas that would be of specific interest to farm and landowners.
“If you are a farm or landowner, and if it is important to you for your farm and land to stay in the family and that your farming-children will have use of your land, consider signing up for this informative workshop,” Corcoran said.
The cost of the workshop is $10, which includes dinner. To register, call the call the Pike County Extension Office at 566-0985 by 4 p.m. Monday, June 12.
