A Troy man is in critical condition after being shot Saturday multiple times.
Police Chief Randall Barr said that the gunshot victim, a 26-year-old male that has not yet been identified by police, and another subject allegedly got into a physical altercation at the party that escalated when a gun was brought into the mix.
“One of them retrieved a gun and shots were exchanged,” Barr said.
Barr confirmed that the man was shot multiple times but has not yet released where the man was shot.
An unidentifed female was also injured during the shooting, suffering minor injuries from a bullet fragment and broken glass according to a statement from the department.
She was treated at Troy Regional Medical Center and released.
Both individuals were transported by private vehicles to TRMC as police were en route to the scene in the 400 block of Aster Avenue, Barr said.
The man was then airlifted to a Montgomery hospital, where Barr said he remains in critical condition as of the last notice.
The incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. Saturday.
Barr said police know all parties involved but are not ready to release any more information on the incident at this time.
This case remains under investigation by the Troy Police Department. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Troy Police Department at 334-566-0500 or on the secret witness line at 334-566-5555.
