“The Crimson Gospel,” which features the Robertson Family of Duck Dynasty fame, will be presented by the First Baptist Church Celebration Choir and Orchestra at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 7, at First Baptist Church of Troy. Admission is free and everyone is invited.
“The Crimson Gospel” is not what might be expected for a First Baptist Church Choir presentation, but Bart Culpepper, FBC Minister of Music, said it will be a very meaningful and inspirational service of the telling of God’s redemptive story of faith, family and sacrifice.
“This presentation is a multimedia worship experience and the music is more folksy than what you might expect of the First Baptist Church Celebration Choir and Orchestra,” Culpepper said. “‘The Crimson Gospel’ features hit songs by artists including Jesus Culture, Natalie Grant, Big Daddy Weave and Brad Paisley and will be performed by our celebration choir and orchestra.”
From the creation of the world to the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Robertsons share some of the most impactful stories of the Bible through video interviews, Culpepper said.
Phil, Miss Kay, Willie, Korie, Jase, Missy and Uncle Si and other members of the famous “duck” family will share their personal testimonies and perspectives.
“The choir will sing throughout the program with songs interspersed between the testimonies,” Culpepper said. “It will be a meaningful worship experience. We invite community folks to come and be with us for ‘The Crimson Gospel.’ A reception for all attendees will follow the presentation.”
“The Crimson Gospel” will be presented in the First Baptist Church Sanctuary, 200 West College Street in downtown Troy.
A nursery will be provided for ages three and under.
