Mary Gene went to be with our Heavenly Father on March 28th from Tampa, Florida. She spent a lifetime loving the Lord as well as serving the Lord and her community. She was always willing to offer a helping hand to those in need. If a volunteer was needed, she was among the first in line. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend to all she met. She was preceded in death by her husband George Nieves, her mother Grace Gibson, her brother John Collins and her sister Claire Godfrey. She is survived by her sons Vic Nieves, Scott Nieves, her daughter Sharon Christiansen, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her amazing church family and wonderful friends in Troy, whom she considered all family. We will be celebrating her life May 4th at First Baptist Church in Troy. Visitation will be from noon to 1:00pm. The celebration will follow immediately from 1:00 to 2:00pm. The Nieves family sends special thanks to all those in Troy for their love, friendship and support shown to Mary Gene. You have all been such a blessing and we are so very thankful.
