Barbara McBride-Smith will be back June Buggin’ at the We Piddle Around Theater in Brundidge for two performances.  The popular tart and tangy Texan will be featured at a “Ladies ONLY Luncheon” on Thursday June 8 and in “Barbara and Barbecue and bluegrass on the side” at Date or Mate Night on June 9.

“Barbara McBride-Smith is one of the most popular storytellers we’ve had at the We Piddle Around Theater,” said Cathie Steed, ticket chair for the sponsoring Brundidge Historical Society. “We’ve had many requests to have her back at our Pike Piddles Storytelling Festival. Those who have heard the story about being in training for her mammogram have split their sides laughing. She’ll be telling that story and several others especially for the ‘Ladies ONLY’ on Thursday.”

Barbara McBride-Smith is just as popular with male audiences so the doors of the We Piddle Around Theater will be open to men, too, on Friday night.

“Barbara serves up sweet truth with a side of Southern grit,” Steed said. “She is a combination of a carnival barker, an old-time revival preacher and Butterfly McQueen. She’s much like storyteller Donald Davis. When she walks on stage, she’s off and takes the audience right along with her. We’re excited to have Barbara back and look forward to the ride she’ll take us on.

“Barbara is so good that we just had to have her back.”
