Construction crews on Tuesday will begin putting the final touches on the Enzor Road Connector Project.
Kevin Hall with CDG Engineering said the final phase of construction will include the construction of a median island in the left northbound turning lane of U.S. Highway 231 onto the Enzor Road Connector, also know as the George Wallace extension. The construction will start Tuesday on the left southbound lane of U.S 231 and continue through Friday and be continued the next Monday through Wednesday. “Basically, they’re going to be closing the left southbound lane in front of Popeye’s and AT&T area and then we’ll close the left turn lane on the northbound lane turning into the new Publix complex,” Hall said. “This is part of the overall development there with the new roads, just for traffic safety on (U.S. 231).”
Hall said this has been the plan all along and is the final phase of the project.
Troy planning and zoning administrator Melissa Sanders urges residents to be careful in the construction zone and asks for residents to have patience with the traffic caused while the construction is ongoing.
According to Hall, the construction should last around 14 days.
Adjoining businesses, AT&T and Popeye’s, will remain open during their regular business hours during this construction. Any questions regarding the construction work should be directed to Randy Hall, project superintendent, at 334-315-0217 or Melissa Sanders at 334-566-0177.
