Troy archers compete at state tourney

Troy Elementary finished in 8th place, CHMS finished in 12th place and CHHS finished in 18th place at the Alabama Archery in the Schools State Championships that were held in Montgomery, AL on April 7. 

Individually for TES, Beaux Mizell and Braden Prestwood lead in scoring with a score of 256 out of 300 possible points.  Hope Challancin (239) and Brooklyn Moran (237) lead the girls.  For CHMS Noah Prestwood (277) and Blake Barron (272) took top honors while Gracie Sneed (263) and Dakota Berry (261) lead the girls.  CHHS was lead by Brandon Cain (274), Abigail Salmon (272), Gus Hughes (266) and Abbie Barron (264).

In the 3-D competition sponsored by the Bowhunters of Alabama, Cassidy Mizell of CHMS finished third with a score of 92 of a possible score of 120.  Tatum Brook finished in tenth place in the middle school girls division.  For middle school boys, Keven Yeoman (TES) finished 13th and Caleb Watkins (CHMS) finished 14th.

Jon Weeks, Gus Hughes and James Allen place in 16th ,17th  & 18 position in the high school division while Jaleigh Owens finished 6th, Abbie Barron 9th and Amber Barron in 11th place for the girls.

Troy Elementary top shooters in 3-D were Brooklyn Moran (6th), Stephanie Kersey (13th) and Ansley Watkins (22nd) for the girls while  Beaux Mizell (12th) and Antonio Frazier placed 33rd in the boys division.
