Memorial services for Lorene Brown Knott, age 88, of Roanoke will be held Wednesday, March 22nd, 2017, at 2:00 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Ronald Laughland officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church cemetery in Wedowee.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 22nd.

Mrs. Knott died Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Traylor Nursing Home in Roanoke.

Survivors include two daughters, Annette Earles (husband, Kenneth) of Brundidge, AL and Shelia Wilson (husband, Eric) of Jefferson City, MO; three sons, Micheal Knott (wife, Cynthia) of Walnut, CA, David Knott (wife, Brenda) of Prattville, AL and Joel Knott of Germany; five sisters, Lillian Taylor of Graham, AL Virginia Holloway, Earlene Harper, Darthy Lewis, and Glenda Dean, all of Roanoke; ten grandchildren, Carol Gourmelon, Pamela Tew, Deborah Faulk, David Earles, Mark Wilson, Brent Wilson, Arthur Kerber, Allan Knott, Christopher Knott, and Daniel Knott; 8 greatgrandchildren, and 2 great-greatgrandchildren.

A Randolph County, Alabama native, Mrs. Knott was born March 16, 1929, the daughter of Orville and Clara Smith Brown. She was a lifelong Alabama Football fan and never missed watching the Crimson Tide play. She had worked for many years as a clerk for the Internal Revenue Service.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ray Knott; two sisters, Alice Waldrop and an infant sister; two infant brothers; and one grandson, Benjamin Knott.
