A Troy man was killed Friday night when the car he was driving veered off the road and struck a tree.
Enoch Oneal Singleton, Jr., 42, was driving along County Road 1111 six miles north of Troy when the 2000 Ford Taurus left the roadway and collided with a tree at approximately 10:50 p.m.
State Trooper Kevin Cook said Singleton was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash report details that Singleton was driving 60 mph in the 45 mph zone and ran off the right side of the road while navigating a left hand curve. Singleton then overcorrected, the report states, and skidded off of the left side of the roadway and into a tree. Singleton was not wearing a seatbelt during the crash according to the report.
Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
