A Troy couple was killed Saturday morning when their vehicle struck several trees while driving along County Road 7755 three miles north of Troy.

Tony Jarvis Cummings, 28, and Tanyo Maresa Cummings, 29, were killed when the 2012 Ford Fusion Tony was driving ran off the roadway, struck several trees and overturned, according to Alabama State Trooper Kevin Cook.

The couple was pronounced dead at the scene by Pike County Coroner Jerry Williams.

Cook said seatbelts were not in use and speed is believed to be a factor.

Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
