Time to go red: Heart Board t-shirts on sale now
T-shirts recognizing the National Go Red for Women awareness campaign are now on sale by the Pike County Heart Board.
Annette Toney, “Go Red’ chair, said National Go Red for Women Day will be Friday, February 3. Men, women and children are encouraged to participate in the American Heart Association’s national movement to end heart disease and stroke in women.
“National Go Red for Women Day is held on the first Friday in February every year to raise awareness about heart disease being the No. 1 killer of women,” Toney said. “The people of Pike County have been strong supporters of the awareness campaign by purchasing ‘Go Red’ T-shirts or simply wearing red on ‘Go Red’ day.”
This year’s “Go Red” T-shirts are actually white to accommodate the 2017 logo, Toney said.
“The T-shirts can be worn throughout the year as a reminded of the continuing efforts to end heart disease and stroke,” Toney said.
The 2017 “Go Red” T-shirts come in short and long sleeves. Depending on the size, the short sleeve T’s are $10 and $11 and the long sleeve shirts are $15 and $16. The shirts also come in children’s sizes and are $8.
