Publix opening date confirmed

Publix has announced that its Troy location will officially have its grand opening on Saturday, January 21.

Store manager Jared Davis had recently announced an opening date of January 18 for the store at a city council meeting, but said that date was subject to change.

Publix spokesperson Dwaine Stevens said that the store would officially open its doors for the first time on January 21.

“We are elated for the opportunity to serve the beautiful and growing community of Troy,” Stevens said. “We have received wonderful support from the community and the local leadership, including the Mayor and his staff, and look forward to being the city’s newest neighbor as we serve towards the betterment of the local community.”

The ribbon cutting ceremony for the new store will take place at 7:45 a.m.
