Mr. Billy Joe Brubaker formally of Troy passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Twin Magnolia Assisted Living in Abbeville, AL.  He was 70. Funeral services for Billy Joe Brubaker will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Minister Darden Kirby officiating. Burial will follow in Hussey Cemetery with Military Honors, Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. The family will receive friends Sunday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Mr. Brubaker was born October 20, 1946 in Salem, IL son of  William Lawrence and Sarah Alice Litts  Brubaker. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army and he served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Cook Brubaker. He is survived by his parents, brother Donnie Brubaker (Kim), Pleasanton, KS; sister, Toni Jean Lane, Matoon, IL, Sally Brubaker, Westfield, IL, Cindy Brubaker, Fresno, CA and Kandy Gross, Westfield, IL; sister-in-law, Lizzie Solomon (Tom), Headland; brother-in-law, George Cook (Evelyn), Banks; a special friend Darden Kirby, Abbeville; numerous nieces, nephews and greats.
