Mary Beth Ward Savage, 59, of Tallahassee, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2016.

She was a lifelong resident of Tallahassee and a 1975 graduate of Godby High School.  Mary Beth was employed by the Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission for over 28 years, where she fostered her love for animals.

Mary Beth is survived by her son, Buck Savage and Devon Porter both of Tallahassee; parents, John and Virginia Ward of Tallahassee; brother, J. Michael Ward (Pamela) of Quincy; nephews, Scott (Matt) Ward and Karl Ward (Kristen Shippy) of Tallahassee and William Gundlach, IV, John McGregor Gundlach of Ft. Lauderdale and Chris Gundlach of Atlanta; nieces, Sarah Elizabeth Gundlauch Lambousy (Greg) of New Orleans, Mary Catherine Gundlauch of Ft. Lauderdale; great-nephews, Cody and Brayden Ward of Tallahassee and great-niece, Haidyn Grace Ward of Tallahassee.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Lanelle Ward Gundlach of Ft. Lauderdale and grandparents, K.T. and Mavis Ward and Harold and Sarah Borland all of Troy, AL.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Bevis Funeral Home, 2710 N. Monroe Street.  The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Tallahassee with interment at 10:00 a.m. CST on Friday, November 18, 2016, at Green Hills Cemetery in Troy, AL. In lieu of flowers, to honor Mary Beth’s affection for animals, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Wildlife Association, P.O. Box 38160, Tallahassee, FL 32315.
