Update: Missing teen found

The 13-year-old Troy boy who went missing Tuesday evening has been found and is safe.

Troy Police Chief Randall Barr said Chad Jeffrey Ramsay Tipp was found shortly after 8 a.m. today, not far from his home on Grace Road. He was unharmed.

“Everything is good and he’s back with his mom and dad,” Barr said. “We appreciate the help from everyone who got the word out looking for him this morning and from the other agencies who assisted in our search over night.”

Barr said representatives of the ALEA, SBI, Dale County Sheriff’s Office and Pike County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the search.

Police said Chad Jeffrey Ramsay Tipp was last seen at his residence on Grace Road about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

“His mother contacted us around 8:30 p.m. to report him missing,” said Troy Police Chief Randall Barr.

Tipp was last seen wearing light colored blue jeans and light grey shirt or jersey with Pike Lib on the front and his name and the number 53 on the back. He is approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall; weights 155 pounds; and has brown eyes and brown hair.

“He doesn’t have his cell phone with him,” Barr said.

“We’re trying to get his name out there and hoping that somebody sees him,” Barr said.
