TARP Halloween Carnival

Troy Animal Rescue Project (TARP) will hold a Halloween Carnival this Saturday on the Square to help raise funds and adopt out pets.
TARP held its first Halloween carnival in 2014 but skipped the event last year. Tiffany Howington, president and founder of TARP, said that the organization wants to make the carnival an annual event.
“The first carnival was a big success,” Howington said. “We raised a lot of money and adopted several of our dogs out. We really enjoy bringing our dogs out to interact with the community. It’s a lot of fun.”
The carnival will feature carnival games, face-painting, arts and crafts sales, a bake sale, a photo booth and, of course, animals for adoption. Animals will include dogs and cats young and old and could also include some other animals such as a ferret, rabbits and guinea pigs.
TARP has been busy lately, taking in over 60 animals so far through October to bring the total number of animals in the organization’s care to over 100.
“We always need foster homes,” Howington said.
For those who can’t wait until the carnival to adopt or foster some of these pets, foster and adoption applications can be found at www.troyanimalrescueproject.com.
