Patriots fall late to Northside

The Pike Patriots played a close game against the Northside Academy Knights on Friday but ultimately lost 34-27 on the road.
The two teams traded scores through the first quarter, but the Patriots were able to take the lead 27-21 in the third quarter on a 74-yard touchdown run by Brayden Harrera.
Northside was able to score two touchdowns in the fourth quarter though, to come back and win the game.
The Patriots scored all four touchdowns on the ground, with three touchdowns being scored by running back J. T. Ball.
The Patriots turned the ball over two times on interceptions, including an interception at Northside’s 10 yard line. Penalties also cost the Patriots, as the team was penalized nine times for 79 yards.
Northside’s offense was extremely efficient against the Patriots scoring five touchdowns on just seven drives. The Knights had 340 yards of total offense. The bulk of the offense came on the ground, including all five touchdowns and 313 yards of offense.
Pike Lib will return home next Friday to face Hooper Academy.
