The Troy Trojans are on the road again this week against Southern Miss, but Troy residents can gather at the Square on Saturday to watch the game.

The Pike County Chamber of Commerce and the City of Troy have teamed up once again to bring “Fall Parties on the Square” starting with Saturday’s watch party.

Leigh Anne Windham, community services coordinator for the City of Troy, said that their first watch party last year was such a success that they decided to hold more this year.

“What better way to spend your Saturday evening than in Downtown Troy cheering on your Troy Trojans?” Windham said. “There was a great turnout at our first watch party last football season and everyone had a lot of fun!”

Windham said that tables and chairs will be set up for the event, but that residents can also bring their own seating. A second television will also be set up to show another game while the Troy game is going on.

“Come downtown before the game starts and spend some time shopping, eating and enjoying some cold beverages at our downtown shops and restaurants,” Windham said.

The next “Fall Party on the Square” will be a concert featuring “Johnny Barron and the Waterfall Band” on Friday, September 23.
