The Children’s Policy Council of Pike County will host a Showcase of Children’s and Family Services that are available to Pike County children and their families from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Charles Henderson High School Cafetorium.

Jon Folmar, showcase chair, said all agencies that provide services to children and their families will be represented.

“Each representative will have five minutes to give a mini speech on his or her agency and the services that it provides,” Folmar said. “Following those presentations, the floor will be open for questions. A panel, lead by Judge William Hightower, will address the specific questions.”

The speeches and question and answer period will last about an hour. Participants then will be invited to visit the different child and family service agency booths.

Folmar said the service agency booths will be set up with boards that display their services and offer informational leaflets.

“The representatives of those agencies will also be available to answer individual questions,” he said.

Hotdogs and hamburgers will be available to the first 200 participants.

The hotdogs and hamburgers will be provided by Garrett’s Piggly Wiggly; soft drinks by Pepsi Cola and snacks by Troy Snacks.

Buses will be available at Pike County High School and Goshen High School to transport those without transportation to the CHHS cafetorium. The buses will leave around 5:30 p.m.
