The Pike County Sherriff’s Office is looking for a man who robbed a Marathon gas station in Springhill Sunday evening.
Troy Johnson, the lead investigator on the case, said a black male entered the station around 4:30 p.m. and asked the clerk to make change.
Once the clerk opened the register, Johnson says the male pulled out his hand with a bag over it and told the clerk to give him the money.
When the clerk refused, the man reached into the open register tray and pulled out about $50 worth of $5 bills.
As the man pulled out the cash, the clerk pulled out a pistol and aimed it at the man, who then ran out of the store.
Johnson says the man ran along the woodline to County Road 2259 and entered a small black vehicle and drove away.
Law enforcement believes that the man may be involved in a string of gas station robberies over the weekend.
Johnson said that the Springhill suspect might be the same man who robbed Inland gas stations in New Brockton and Daleville on Saturday night.
Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call the Pike County Sheriff’s office at 334-566-4347.
