If folks get as many kicks out of the Pike County Cattlemen’s PCA Rodeo this weekend as they do watching local celebrities ride the mechanical bull at 11 a.m. Friday at Santa Fe, then it’s going to be one whale of a rodeo.

The rodeo will kick off at 7:30 Friday night at Cattleman Park with a super lineup of cowboys and cowgirls from all across the Southeast, said B.B. Palmer, Cattleman Park director.

“We’ll have all of the main rodeo events – bronc busting, barrel racing, steer wrestling, bareback ridin’, calf roping, team roping, breakaway roping and, everybody’s favorite, bull riding,” Palmer said.

“We’ll have stick horses races, steer head roping, mutton bustin’ and the Little Buckaroo dress up contest,” Palmer said. “On the outside, we’ll have wagon and buggy rides at no extra cost.”

Palmer said the action in the rodeo arena will provide fun and excitement for the entire family.
