Officers attempted to make a traffic stop on Boykin on Fairview Street near Orion Street. Boykin pulled to the side of the road as if he was going to stop for police, but before officers could exit their vehicles Boykin took off and led officers on a short vehicle pursuit.

Boykin’s vehicle struck a parked vehicle in the mobile home park and Boykin then fled the scene on foot. Officers pursued Boykin on foot to a residence in the 300 block of Orion Street where Boykin was taken into custody.

Officers found a handgun, illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia in Boykin’s vehicle. Boykin was processed through the Troy City Jail and transported to the Pike County Jail where he was incarcerated. Boykin’s bonds totaled $11,500.00.
