Lelia Faulkner, 29, walked out of her Pike County home on July 4 and hasn’t been seen or heard from since by family or friends, said her father, Ricky Faulkner.
According to Faulkner, his daughter left their home around 2 p.m. on July 4 after getting into an argument with her mother. He said his daughter had been living with them for two days while looking for a new place to live.
“This isn’t the first time she’s disappeared,” Faulkner said. “But she always came back a few days later. She’s never been gone this long.”
Faulkner said Lelia had been using an EBT card for help buying food, but hasn’t used it since she disappeared. Her phone goes straight to voicemail and she doesn’t have a driver’s license. She was last seen wearing blue jean shorts and carrying a large black purse.
Lelia was an active Facebook user, her father said, but she has not used the social media outlet since she left.
Most concerning to Faulkner is the fact that Lelia’s young daughter has a birthday coming up, but Lelia hasn’t called to speak with her. “She’s never not called her daughter on her birthday before,” Faulkner said.
While Faulkner looked through photos on his phone for a picture to be shared, Lelia’s daughter pointed out a photo of the two of them together.
“That’s my favorite one, Pappy,” she said.
The family has filed a missing person’s report. The Pike County Sheriff’s Office said investigators are attempting to find Lelia, but have limited leads to follow. They are currently trying to “ping” her phone to pinpoint her location.
