The board also accepted the resignation of Jaye Robinson, Troy Elementary special education teacher.

Dr. Lee Hicks, superintendent, said he was pleased with the hires, which include a graduate of the Troy City Schools system (Phillips) and the return of the culinary arts teacher. “We’re glad to have her back,” he said. “We established a wonderful program when she is here and we expect she will pick right back up.”

Hicks said the district still needs to fill three openings at the high school: assistant principal, history teacher and baseball coach.

“We’ll be interviewing this week and hopefully have people in place soon,” he said. “We should have everybody in place before the first day of school.”
