The Tony Scott ArtBridges Summer Teachers Workshop got underway at The Studio Thursday with a flurry of activity. Twenty-four teachers from area schools are discovering how motion helps build teamwork and a cooperative spirit in the classroom. Tara Sartorius is the program director of the “Plants and Dance” workshop that is designed to combine science and the arts. The workshop will culminate today with artists’ presentations and art activities. The workshop co-sponsored by the Alabama Alliance for Arts Education, the Alabama State Council on the Arts and the Johnson Center for the Arts. Pictured in a mix and mingle movement exercise are Sheila Roton, Jenny Meadows, Tara Davenport, Day Barnes and many others.
