National honors for Threadgill Studio

Gwen Threadgill, a National Guild Hall of Fame member, American College of Musicians judge, and NGPT Troy Center Chair, entered 26 students in the 2016 audition.

They were heard by Angela Glove from Dothan, and 16 students performed 10-piece National Programs.

Three students earned a composer pin for having performed ten memorized pieces for five years or more. Adrice Diggs, daughter of Dr. Amanda and the late Mr. Bernard Diggs; Daniel Niu, son of Mr. and Mrs. Xutong Niu; and Carl Knight, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Knight, earned their composer pins for the first time this year. Carl played a 17-piece memorized program.

All Mrs. Threadgill’s students also participated in the annual Hymn and Patriotic Festival held by Troy Music Teacher’s Association. Three students performed piano pieces for the Troy Music Student Club recently. They include Isabel Robledo and Mario Robledo, children of Dr. and Mrs. A. Robledo, and Cathy Stockstill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Stockstill.

Students memorizing a National 10-piece memorized program were awarded their National Fraternity of Students Musicians Gold Pin. They are: Elsie Clare Coppage, Cadent Ernest, Karlee Hester, Sophie Kirk, Anja Lieb, Ingrid Lieb, Claire-Ann Manning, Cadee Niu, Daniel Niu, Isabel Robledo, Mario Robledo, Carmen Sanders, Jeannie Sanders, Briann Snyder, Cathy Stockstill, and Evan Zhao.

Students memorizing seven, eight or nine pieces received the National Piano Guild State pin. Those students are: Fraukje Lieb, Britton Paul, and Charlee Sanders. Students receiving their Guild pin for memorizing four, five or six pieces are: Emma Baker, Dani Daniel, Adrice Diggs, Kaitlin Floyd, and Mira Menon.
