Brundidge library summer program registration ends Saturday

Saturday is the last day to register for the Summer Reading Program at the Tupper Lightfoot Memorial Library in Brundidge. Registration may be done at the  library on at 164 South Main Street or by calling 334-735-2145.

The Summer Reading Program will kickoff at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 2 on the library lawn.

“We’ll kick off our Summer Reading Program in big, fun way and it will be just the beginning of lots of fun, learning activities and programs,” said Theresa Trawick, library director. “We have programs planned for all ages and we hope to have a lot of kids come and enjoy summer fun at the library.”

The kindergarten, first- and second-grade kids will meet on Mondays; pre-schoolers will meet on Tuesdays along with Teen Time. Fifth- and sixth-graders will meet on Wednesdays. Home schoolers will meet on Thursdays.

Special programs will be on Thursdays with the Science of Sports with the McWayne Center at 2 p.m. at Brundidge Station on June 9; Cheering is a Sport on the June 16 and Maynard Music and Magic at Brundidge Station on June 30.

There will be no programs in July, however, there will be an awards program for those who turned in reading cards on July 7. On July 14, Animal Tales will be presented at 3 p.m. at Brundidge Station. The Tupper Lightfoot Memorial Library Summer Reading Program will end with a splash on Thursday, July 21 with Splash Day at 2 p.m. on the library.

“We have a great Summer Reading Program planned for all young people and we encourage everyone to register and join in all the summer fun at the Tupper Lightfoot Memorial Library,” Trawick said.
