The Main Street Academy’s Governing Board announces that Cheryl Parker has accepted the position of Principal of TMSA.

Parker is a 1991 graduate of Charles Henderson High School, and attended and graduated from Spelman in Atlanta. She brings eight years of administrative experience to the job, both as an academy director and interim principal at TMSA, and as an instructional coach in mathematics in Atlanta Public Schools.

As Academy Director, Parker instituted several notable innovations that have directly led to an enhanced College and Career Readiness Performance Index score. As interim principal, she has proven that she has the dedication and the work ethic necessary to carry out the most important job at TMSA.

More than 80 candidates from six different states competed for the position.
