Jones announces candidacy for Council District 1

Robert Jones announces his candidacy Troy City Council District 1 in the upcoming Troy municipal election.

“As an entrepreneur and business owner for the past 17 years and a lifelong resident of the city of Troy, I consider myself both blessed and privileged to live and work in our beautiful city,” Jones said. “Over the years, I have had the opportunity to see change an growth in troy but realize there are a number of things that are needed to continue to progress and move our community forward, particularly in District 1.



Jones has been the owner of Crowe’s Chicken for 17 years. He is a 1972 graduate  of Charles H. Henderson School and is a member of First Missionary Baptist Church, where he has served as deacon for the past 21 years. He is the father of the four.

“Beyond that, I pride myself in being a community servant and believe strongly in giving back,” he said. “As a member of the City Council, I want to focus on bettering our community and helping to enhance the quality of life for all citizens of Troy by working to enhance revenue, recruit new businesses and thereby create new jobs. It is my mission to help ensure the safety our community and promote a positive environment for our families to live in, our students to learn in and new and existing business to prosper in.
