Murrell Johnson, age 81, a resident of Jack, AL, died Monday, May 16, 2016 at Flowers Hospital. Funeral services will be held onThursday, May 19, 2016 at 2:00pm at St John Baptist Church with Rev. Averyt Walker officiating. He will lie in state for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will following with military honors provided by the U.S. Airforce, in the St John Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge directing. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 6-8pm at Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge.

Mr. Johnson proudly served his country for 21 years in the United States Air Force where he retired as a Tech Sgt.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Glenna Witsman Johnson; son, Reed Johnson; daughters, Rhonda Firestine (Bill), Lisa Meacham (Bill), Kimberly Firestine (David); sister, Georgia Marion Ziglar (Randolph); grandsons, Aric Johnson (Shannon), Ben Meacham (Alexandria), John Firestine (Haley), Jacob Meachem (Alexis) and Aleks Firestine; granddaughters, Sarah Meacham, Micaelin Firestine, Ryann Firestine, and Halli Hiracheta; great grandson, Mason Johnson; great granddaughters, Autumn & Carsen Meacham and several nieces, nephews and other close relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elihue & Willie Mae Johnson; brother, Lavell Johnson and sister, Josephine Stone (Donald).
