BBA’s Springfest in Brundidge Saturday

The Brundidge Business Association will present “SpringFest 2016” on the grounds of the Historic Bass House in downtown Brundidge from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday.
Admission is free and the public is invited.
Dixie Shehane, BBA festival chair, said although it might seem a little cliché, this year’s SpringFest should be the best ever.
“We have a large and varied group of crafters, a great lineup of entertainment, vendors with a big selection of festival foods, a supervised kids’ corner and a cow patty drop,” she said. “And, on top of all that, the weatherman is promising us a bight, sunny spring day. What could be better than that?”
SpringFest will feature about 40 crafters and food vendors.
“There will be familiar and new faces among the crafters,” Shehane said. “We’ll have flowers, frames, door decorations, birdhouses, homemade soaps, rocks, jewelry, clothing, monogrammed items and more. For the hunger in all of us, we’ll have roasted corn, onion rings, barbecue, hamburgers, hotdogs, French fries and yummy sweet things.”
At 8:30 a.m. the entertainment will kickoff with The Benton Brothers & Company. At 9:30 a.m. Allan Wood will take center stage followed by the John Weaver Review at 11 a.m.
At noon there will be a short break in the entertainment so everyone can attend the Cow Patty Drop on lower end of the grounds
Robert Hughes and his cow, Baby, will stroll around the 200-square grid. And, when the paddy drops, the owner of that square will know the $500 sweet smell of success
At 12:30 p.m. attention will be back on the SpringFest center sage with The Vessels Quartet in concert. At 1:30 p.m. Two P’s and a Biscuit will bring country to town. At 3 p.m. Gary Garrett will mix country and blues to close out SpringFest 2016.
Shehane said a few vendor spaces are available at $30 for craft booths, $50 for food booths and $50 for commercial booths and so are a few squares on the Cow Patty Drop grid. Squares are only $10.
