Rehobeth, AL – Charles Henderson High watched two leads evaporate as Rehobeth came from behind to win by scores of 4-3 and 23-12 in the second round of the Class 5A state playoffs Friday in Rehobeth, ending the season for CHHS.

The Rebels took a 1-0 lead in the first game when Gage Herring doubled and scored on a single by John Miller.

Rehobeth pitcher Jack Knight held a no-hitter through four complete innings before hitting Charlie Tisdale in the fifth, DQ Toney came in as a pinch runner, and Toney scored on the first hit by CHHS, a single by Jabronski Wililams to tie the score at 1-1.

Chase Hartley gave up the one run to Rehobeth in the first, but then pitched five consecutive scoreless innings.

The Trojans went ahead 2-1 in the top of the sixth inning on a home run by Jackson Murphy, and 3-1 in the top of the seventh on a solo homer by Tisdale.

Hartley got the first two batters out in the bottom of the seventh inning, but a hit by pitch and a double brought in Grant Hughes in relief of Hartley.

Following a hit batter, two infield errors gave Rehobeth three runs in the bottom of the seventh for the 4-3 come-from-behind win.

In the second game the Trojans were the home team and after Tisdale shut Rehobeth down in the top of the first, CHHS rallied for seven runs in the bottom half as William singled, Bryson Gandy hit a home run, Nick Lewis doubled, Hartley and Murphy walked, Carson Tucker walked to push across a run, Tisdale hit a sacrifice fly to score a run, Eric Lee reached on an error, Williams singled again to drive in a run, Gandy singled, and CHHS led 7-0.

Hartley walked and scored on a double by Murphy in the second and pinch runner Toney scored on a sacrifice fly by Tucker for a 9-0 lead.

Rehobeth scored one run in the top of the third and CHHS matched it when Gandy walked and scored to make it 10-1.

The Rebels fought back for four in the top of the fourth inning to make it 10-5, added five in the top of the fifth to tie the score 10-10.

Hartley homered in the bottom of the fifth to give CHHS an 11-10 lead, Rehobeth batted around for seven runs in the top of the sixth for a 17-11 advantage, CHHS cut it to 17-12, and Rehobeth added six more to go up 23-12.
