Dear Editor,

I was so impressed by the number of participants in mayor for a day contest and their thoughtful, well-written essays. I would particularly like to commend Scott Taylor Renfroe for is essay on the benefits of an environment rich in trees (which used to be the Troy I knew). Planting medium sized ornamental trees is such a simple feature and would enhance barren neighborhoods especially along entrances such as Three Notch and Trojan Way. I would like to be contributor to such a project, as I would hope other such as, garden clubs, etc. would be. I applaud Scott Taylor Renfroe for drawing attention to this issue and for showing concern and vision for the future of his hometown.
