Alabama Highway 93 has reopened to traffic after being closed due to damages from the December 2015flooding event.

A current project on the highway, awarded to MidSouth Paving, Inc., based in Birmingham, was already underway when the damage occurred. The same contractor has been making the repairs.

The contractor began making repairs towards the beginning of February 2016, but had to stop because the damage to the roadway was greater than originally identified, according to officials with Alabama Department of Transportation.
