Crash claims two lives

An early morning crash on Saturday claimed the lives of two women and sent five other individuals to the hospital.

Elizabeth Farris English, 19, of Elba was killed when the 2011 Hyundai she was driving collided head-on with a 1998 Lexus driven by Joy Matthew Moses, 24, of Troy.

English and Moses were both pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in English’s vehicle was injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment. Four passengers in Moses’ vehicle were life flighted to Flowers Hospital in Dothan for treatment of their injuries.

The crash occurred on Alabama 167 at the 38.8 mile marker, seven miles north of Enterprise.

Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
